VW speedster recreation
The Porsche 356 speedster was introduced in 1954 after Max Hoffman, the German brandβs American importer, saw opportunities for an inexpensive spartan open sports car based on the successful 356. Porsche subsequently introduced the 356 speedster. Like many legendary models in Porsche history, βthe art of omission β led to one of the most desirable models in automotive history.
This Vintage speedster is a recreation of the original, it is a copy built by the renowned company Vintage speedsters which has now delivered more than 3300 copies of this speedster.
It was Lammertink Classics, part of Porsche center Twente, that brought these speedsters to the Netherlands and better yet, checked the cars extensively and made improvements where necessary. In 2011, Porsche Center Enter registered this speedster as a demonstration model. Meanwhile, the counter indicates a still very modest 15000 km. The car is still in exceptionally nice condition and definitely belongs to the top when it comes to replicas of the icon.
Most speedsters offered feature a 1600cc air-cooled engine, but this example features a more powerful 1915cc engine with twin carburetors that produces about 90 horsepower. This spirited engine is mated to a 3:88 transmission. With the optional dual sports exhaust, this speedster produces an impressive sound that will be music to the ears of enthusiasts. In terms of stopping power, the driver need not worry either as this car features the optional front disc brakes. The body is executed in polyester and because the paint job could not stand the judgment of the perfectionist it was decided before delivery to provide the body with a new paint job in 5404 elfenbein weiss. This body is in perfect condition and damage free.
It is the details that make this speedster so attractive. For example, this car was delivered with white wall tires, wooden Nardi steering wheel, carrera style fuel filler cap in the front door, luxury blue license plates, and aluminum trim and sill moldings. The interior is upholstered in a beautiful cream color that compliments the white paint excellently. The bucket seats hold you in place perfectly, and are upholstered in faux leather.
In short, a beautiful speedster recreation in a tasteful color scheme, exceptionally high quality and equipped with attractive options that is not inferior to a newer example.
